Randy Pausch เสียชีวิตไปเมื่อ 25 ก.ค. ที่ผ่านมาด้วยโรคมะเร็งตับอ่อน

นอกจาก รางวัลมากมายด้านคอมพิวเตอร์แล้ว

 

เขายังได้ทิ้ง หนังสือ และ การบรรยาย ที่เรียกกันว่า  The Last Lecture ไว้ด้วย 

 

การบรรยาย The Last Lecture คือ ประเพณีของมหาวิทยาลัย Carnegie Mellon ที่จะเชิญ นักวิชาการมาพูด ในสมมติฐานที่ว่า “ถ้าคุณรู้ว่าคุณกำลังจะตาย คุณมีข้อคิดใดที่อยากมอบไว้ให้แก่โลก”

 

การบรรยายของ Randy Pausch ใน The Last Lecture ซึ่งเขาพูดในหัวข้อ

“Really Achieving your Childhood Dreams” ได้รับความนิยมอย่างมาก มีผู้คนนับล้านที่ D/L ไปดู เพราะมันเป็นการบรรยายที่เพิ่มพลังชีวิตแก่ ผู้ดูได้อย่างดีทีเดียว….ลองเข้าไปดูนะครับ ธรรมดาๆ แต่มีคุณค่า สนุก และมีพลัง ที่สำคัญที่ subtitle ให้ด้วย

• Brick walls are there for a reason. They are not there to keep us out. The brick walls are these to give us a chance to show how badly we want something. The brick walls are there to stop people who don’t want it badly enough.
• It is not about achieving your dreams but living your life. If you lead your life the right way, the karma will take care of itself. The dreams will come to you

On our honeymoon, my wife and I went to Thailand. We got to see the dormitory  that my parents were able to create. There’s nothing like seeing that kind of help for other people to really inspire you.
